Corsets
I have a lifelong passion for corsets and have made many corsets for different periods. I believe to to bring a costume to life you have to start with the basics, the correct underwear is crucial in creating the right silhouette for any given period.
Living History
In my twenty plus years of making costumes I have made many costumes for living history Events ranging from Tudor, Regency and Bronze age outfits for places such as Kentwell Hall, Suffolk Loxwood Joust and Little Woodham Living history Village.
Theatre
I have been making costumes for Opera and Ballet for more than 25 years having worked in the Ladies workrooms of The Royal opera House, English National Ballet and The English National Opera. I have also made many freelance costumes for other companies such as Birmingham Royal Ballet and The Stamford Shakespeare Company. During my time working in the Theatre I have made a wide range of costumes from a traditional ballet tutu and bodice right through to elaborate 18th Century Sackback dressess.
Museums and Houses
Over the past ten years I have branched out into making costumes for Museums and historic houses. Whether its for visitors to try on or for costumed interpreters and curators to wear. Some of the venues I've made for include Museum of London, Audley end and Gressenhall working Museum.
